STCW 95

On the week of the 20 to 24 of march, I took a safety course which is called STCW 95. This course is required to work on all commercial ships. The first two days we did water safety. We spent a full day on emegency equipment and then a full day in the pool swimming with gumby suits, inflating liferafts and learning how to wright them if they would ever flip over. The 3rd day was first aid and the last two days were firefighting. The first day was theory and the last day we dressed up with the firefighting suits and respirators and actually went inside a burning building to put it out and did all kinds of rescue drills. It was a great course and very informative.

Key West

On the way to Key west we stopped at the Coral Castle. It is a very fascinating place. This whole place was constructed by one man by himself in the 1940's. Posted by Picasa
